Starry, that's fantastic.
I don’t believe
you finished all these some on your own in .
Wait.. let me check
them.
5 multiply by 3, the
product is 15.
7 multiply by 6, the product is 42.
3 multiply by 9, the product is 27.
Good Starry! All correct.
7 multiply by 6, the product is 42.
3 multiply by 9, the product is 27.
Good Starry! All correct.
What you have just
finished is multiplying a one digit number with another one digit number?
Now, let me teach you
how to multiply a two digit number by a one digit number
It’s simple, believe
me!
The first step Starry is to write down T for the digit in the ten places and U for the digit in the
unit places.
And then arrange the
number you have to multiply vertically.
You next multiply the
unit 3 in 43 by 2 and write the product 6 in the unit places of the product.
Now multiply the ten
digit 4 in 43 by 2 and write the product 8 in the ten places of the product.
Hence, 43 multiply by
2 is 86.
Wasn’t that easy!
Let us try another one.
Let us try another one.
Multiply 32 by 3.
First multiply the
unit digit 2 by 3 and write the product 6 in the unit places of the product
Then, multiply the ten
digit 3 by 3 and write the product 9 in the ten places of the product.
Hence, 32 multiply by
3 is 96
Now let us revise what we have learnt by completing the following exercises on
multiplication.
Multiply 12 by 3,
2x3 are 6,
1x3 are 3.
2x3 are 6,
1x3 are 3.
The product is 36.
Multiply 21 by 3
Multiply 21 by 3
1x3 are 3, 2x3 are 6.
The product is 63
The product is 63
Multiply 44 by 2
4x2 are 8, 4x2 are 8.
The product is 88.
The product is 88.
Multiply 11 by 7.
1x7 are 7, 1x7 are 7.
The product is 77.
The product is 77.
And finally, multiply
40 by 2,
0 by 2 is 0, 4x2 are
8.
The product is 80.
The product is 80.
I'm so happy Starry,
you have learnt to multiply a two digit number by a one digit number.
